  • Many times I get News / Info about Shirdi and or Sai Baba which is not enough to make an article.
So, thought to come up with 'Shirdi Sai Baba Tweets' to share such one liner news / info's
with all on a regular basis.

    1) 26th April`2014 -  The Maharashtra Govt is trying to introduce subsidized air connectivity from Juhu aerodrome to tier II and III cities in the state including SHIRDI. If the project gets implemented, it will be the first time that the government would subsidize up to 7 seats to promote air connectivity. Senior government employees and bureaucrats might use these seats for official travel. Supreme Aviation will operate two nine-seater Cessna Caravan aircraft (non-schedule) daily from Juhu. It will also cover cities like Amravati, Aurangabad, Nanded, Solapur, Ratnagiri, Karad, and Kolhapur. There will be night halts at Jalgaon and Kolhapur.

    2) 02nd May`2014 - Aurangabad Bench of Bombay High Court orders Shirdi Sansthan
to Nominate an IAS officer, as its Chief Executive Officer, within 45 Days !

    3) As of March`2013, the Shirdi Sai Baba Temple, Maharashtra has jewellery worth over Rs.50,53,17,473 and FD's worth around Rs.627,56,97,488. The temple also has foreign currency worth Rs.17,05,137. It claimed to be spending Rs.76 crore on charity, including Rs.45 crore towards the development of an airport at Shirdi and hosting a Sai Bhajan Sandhya in London for Rs.24,69,239. In 2013, the temple received donations worth Rs.2,06,14,96,152. The same year, an official of the Shri Saibaba Sansthan Trust reportedly said that the temple had received cash and jewellery worth Rs 3.44 crore in three days — Rs.3 crore in gold and silver ornaments and the rest through sales at temple counters and devotees’ accommodation.

    4) From June, Surat city will launch the state's first full-fledged air taxi service using Cessna Aircrafts and Choppers, from Surat to Ahmedabad, Bhavnagar, Amreli, Rajkot, Porbandar, Bhuj, Jaipur and Mumbai. And soon, the company also plans to run a weekly trip every Thursday to Shirdi from Surat as there are a lot of pilgrims to the Shirdi Sai Baba temple.

    5) Lucknow to Shirdi Summer Special Trains: From May`2014 to June`2014, IRCTC will be running special summer Trains from Lucknow to Shirdi. Passengers can board trains from Lucknow, Kanpur, Varanasi and Sultanpur. Shirdi trips will be available between May 3-8, May 16-21, May 23-28 and June 5-10 and will cost Rs 3,330/-

    6) New-Delhi to Shirdi (13 trips) Summer Special Trains:
Weekly AC Superfast Special Trains from April to June`2014.

Train No. 04012 will leave New Delhi at 23.55 hrs on every Wednesday

    7) This May`2014 when Shirdi Sansthan is celebrating the Golden Jubilee of 'Shri Sainath Hospital' @ Shirdi. A sting operation carried on by a News Channel exposes that this Shirdi Sansthan managed Hospital, which is supposed to give Medicines etc totally Free Of Cost to the Poor and needy patients, is actually charging them for the same. Plus some more info came to light for which the Executive Officer Shri Ajay More gave some reply when this matter was brought forward to him by the news channel. Things have been rectified and the poor have started getting medicines free of cost.

8 ) In Indore's Khajrana Ganesh Temple, the old 2.5 feet tall statue of #Sai Baba is going to be replaced with a new 4 feet tall Statue. Going to be made at a cost of Rs.1.5 lakh by Jaipur's Gopal Mishra, it is going to be similar to the one at the Shirdi Sai Temple. This is being done because the Khajrana Ganesh Temple is getting revamped in a major way...and all at an estimated cost of Rs.50 Crore !!!

    9) The Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) has started work on the long-awaited 4-lane Waluj road on Monday 19th May`2014, following protest threats from the Marathwada Association of Small Scale Industries and Agriculture. This Waluj-Aurangabad road is a major link between holy towns like Shirdi from centres like Pune, Nashik and Mumbai.

    10) 20th May`2014 - IIMT Institute of Engineering and Technology`Meerut`U.P is going to install an Idol of Shirdi Sai Baba, made in Jaipur in their college. This Idol which is ready, is similar to the Idol present @ Shirdi. • 1) As on 26th May`2014 - The Madhya Pradesh Government is planning to make
low cost boarding and lodging facilities in 12 different pilgrimages around India including Shirdi.
Fitted with all the basic amenities, these facilities will have 10 rooms and 2 big Halls each
and will be able to accommodate 200 people at one time.

Soon talks will be initiated with the Maharashtra State Government
for the procurement of Land for the same. And if the State Government, for any reason,
is not able to give them Land at a subsidized rate then the Madhya Pradesh Government
will purchase the Land at the prevailing Market rate.

People will be able to stay here for a maximum 3-days at subsidized rates
while a Free stay will be given for the BPL (Below Poverty Line) Families.

Other places selected for such boarding and lodging facilities are Kedarnath, Badrinath,
Vaishnodevi, Benaras, Amritsar, Dwarka, Tirupati, Rameshwaram, Ajmer, Gaya and Haridwar.

  • 1) On 05th June`2014, during the Swearing-in Ceremony of the 16th Lok Sabha MPs,
Sadashiv Lokhande (Shiv Sena MP from Shirdi) took his Oath in the name of Sai Baba ~

    2) In June`2014, a 200 year old huge Neem tree suddenly fell down on its own
in the famous Mahakaleshwar temple in Ujjain, killing 2 Kids who were sitting beneath.
Many others too were trapped in it but were rescued in time.
So, now to prevent a similar mishap from happening again with regards to the other
Trees present in this Temple premises, a group from the Mahakaleshwar Temple
will soon be going to Shirdi to study how the Shirdi Sai Baba Sansthan has
protected & preserved the Trees present in the Shirdi Temple's premises since Saibaba's time.

    3) Shirdi Airport Update as on 12th June`2014 ~
The Inauguration of the Shirdi Airport has been delayed again. And, if not by the end of 2014
then it could be atleast another year before the Airport is finally opened for Public use.
The Airport's Parking lot, Security Wall and Runway work has been completed.
But, due to Financial Constraints, the work on the Terminal Building has not yet been completed,
and some Construction work is also pending apart from certain Technical difficulties being faced.

Also, the Airport Runway which has long been ready for use, has been refused permission by the Central Government,
to be used by Private Jets for a couple of months before being thrown open for the Public.

But the main concern are the Kakadi Village people who have warned of not allowing the Airport
to be inaugurated until the big promises made to them by the Maharashtra Government are fulfilled.
As, even though the Airport work is edging to be completed, not even a single promise made to them
has been fulfilled as yet, giving them a feeling of being duped by the Government.
So, they have refused to start work on the Airport again, nor will they Inauguration be made,
if and when the Airport work gets completed.

  • 1) The Central Railways has increased the rounds of the Summer special trains
from New Delhi to #Shirdi from the earlier June end to 01st Aug`2014.

from 04.07.2014 to 01.08.2014 (5 trips) and arrive New Delhi at 08.15 hrs next day.

04012 Weekly AC superfast special will leave New Delhi at 23.55 hrs on every Wednesday
from 02.07.2014 to 30.07.2014 (5 trips) and arrive Sainagar Shirdi at 23.15 hrs next day.

HALTS- Manmad, Bhusawal, Khandwa, Itarsi, Habibganj, Bhopal, Jhansi, Gwalior,

    2) On Thursday 03rd July`2014 - A collective reading of Dasganu Maharaj's 'Shri Sainath Stavan Manjari
was held @ the Shirdi Sansthan's ground in Shirdi. On its completion, Shirdi's Head Priest Shri Balasaheb Joshi
appealed to the all Sai Devotees all around the world to stop further agitations or protests against Shankaracharya
so as to help to relax this whole controversy. Whereas, the Shirdi Sansthan's committee has decided not to react
to any "insinuation". The Sansthans P.R.O Shri.Mohan Yadav said,
"The devotees are free to protests against the Shankaracharya but as a temple committee
we have decided not to react to any provocation," Yadav said. Also, since this issue began,
there has been a huge surge in the number of devotees visiting Shirdi.

  • 1) 20th August`2014 - Now devotees traveling by Train to Shirdi will be able to save around 25 minutes on the travel time
because the Electrification work on the Manmad - Daund - Shirdi rail route is almost completed.
Thus, there will no longer be any need for Shirdi-bound trains
to change their engines from electrical to diesel ones at Manmad station before heading to Shirdi.
Currently, this tedious exercise forces trains to halt at Manmad station
for at least 20 to 30 minutes before the train resumes its journey.
The overhead lines and the pillars are in place and the necessary tests are underway
before power is supplied to the overhead wires. This electrification work itself was going on
since last 3 years and was supposed to start off in Sept`2013.

    2) In the ongoing Shankaracharya issue regarding Saibaba,
just read an article by author Badri Raina, from which I quote a few interesting lines:

"As the word about Sai Baba spread, he began to draw recognition and allegiance from all segments of contemporary society.
Among known Hindu saints of the time, Anandanath Swami called him a “Diamond” and Gangadir a “Jewel”. In 1873,
Beedhar Maharaj bestowed upon him the honorific of “Jagad Guru”. He came to be venerated by Swami Vasadevananda,
and a group of Shavic Yogis took him in as their own into the Nath Panchayat !"
