Schluss

Drei Wadas
1. Das Grundstück mit dem Niem-Baum und dessen Umgebung wurde von Herrn Haro Vanayak Sathe gekauft, der darauf ein großes Gebäude, Sathes Wada, errichtete. Dieses Wada war der einzige Schlafplatz für Pilger, die nach Shirdi kamen. Um den Niem-Baum wurde eine Plattform mit Stufen gebaut. Unter den Stufen befindet sich eine nach Süden gerichtete Nische, und due Devotees sitzen auf der Pkattform mit Blick gen Norden gerichtet. Wenn man hier Donnerstags oder Freitags am Abend Räucherstäbchen abbrennt, wird man - so der Glaube - durch Gottes Gnade glücklich. Dieses Wada war alt und verfallen und bedurfte einer Erneuerung, und die nötigen Reparaturen, Anbauten und Veränderungen wurden durch den Sansthan vorgenommen.
2. Nach einigen Jahren wurde ein weiteres Wada, Dixits Wada, errichtet. Kakasaheb Dixit, ein Rechtsanwalt aus Bombay, war einmal in England. Dort verletzte er sich bei einem Unfall am Bein. Diese Verletzung konnte durch nichts geheilt werden. Nanasaheb Chandorkar empfahl ihm, es mit Sai Baba zu versuchen, und so traf er Sai Baba im Jahre 1909. Er bat Ihn allerdings, eher sein lahmes Gemüt als sein lahmes Bein zu heilen. Er war so erfreut über Babas Darshan, dass er sich entschloss, in Shirdi zu bleiben. Deshalb baute er für sich und andere Devotees ein Wada. Der Grundstein für dieses Gebäude wurde am 10. 12. 1910 gelegt. Am diesem Tsge fanden noch zwei andere wichtige Ereignisse statt. Erstens erhielt Herr Dadasaheb Khaoarde die Erlaubnis, nach Hause zurückzukehren, und zweitens wurde mit dem Abend-Arati im Chavadi begonnen. Die Einweihung des Wada fand mit allen erforderlichen Ritualen und Formalitäten am Ramanavami-Tag im Jahre 1911 statt.
3. Der berühmte Millionär Booty aus Nagpur ließ ein großes Wada bzw. einen palastähnlichen Wohnsitz erbauen. Fpür das Gebäude wurde eine Menge Geld ausgegeben. Der gesamte Betrag war aber gut angelegt, denn hier ruht nun Sai Babas Körper. Dieses Wada nennt man heute Samadhi-Mandir. Das GRundstück, auf dem sich der Tempel (mandir) befindet, war früher einmal ein Garten, der von Baba selbst gegossen und gepflegt wurde.
So entstanden die drei Wadas, von denen das von Sathe in den früheren Tsgen äußerst nützlich für alle war.
Die Geschichten vom Garten, der von Sai Baba mit Vaman Tatyas Hilfe gepflegt wurde, von der zeitweiligenAbwesenheit Sai Babas von Shirdiund von Seiner Rückkehr mit Chand Patils Hochzeitsgesellschaft, von Seinem Umgang mit Devidas, Jankidas und Gangagir, von Babas Ringkampf mit Mohdin Tamboli, vom Wohnsitz in der Masjid, von der Liebe des Herrn Dengale und anderer Devotees sowie weitere Begebenheiten werden im nächsten Kapitel beschrieben.

Chapter 4

Three Wadas

(1) The site with the Neem tree and surrounding space was bought by Mr. Hari Vinayak Sathe, and on this site a big building styled Sathe’s Wada was erected. This Wada was the sole resting place for pilgrims, who flocked there.

A Par (platform) was built round the neem tree and lofts with steps were constructed. Under the steps, there is a niche facing South and devotees sit on the Par (platform) facing north. It is believed, that he who burns incense there, on Thursday and Friday evenings will, by God’s grace, be happy. This Wada was old and dilapidated and wanted repairs. The necessary repairs, additions and alterations have been made now by the Sansthan.

(2) Then after some years another Wada, Dixit’s Wada was constructed. Kakasaheb Dixit, Solicitor of Bombay, had gone to England. He had injured his leg by an accident there. The injury could not be got rid of by any means. Nanasaheb Chandorkar advised him to try Sai Baba. So he saw Sai Baba in 1909 A.D., and requested Him to cure rather the lameness of his mind than that of his leg. He was so much pleased with the darshana of Sai Baba, that he decided to reside in Shirdi. So he built a Wada for himself and other devotees.

The foundation of this building was laid on 10-12-1910. On this day, two other important events took place.

(1) Mr. Dadasaheb Khaparde was given permission to return home, and (2) the night Arti in Chavadi was commenced. The Wada was complete and was inhabited on the Rama-Navami day in 1911 A.D., with due rites and formalities.

(3) Then another Wada or palatial mansion was put up by the famous millionaire, Mr. Booty, of Nagpur. Lots of money were spent on this building, but all the amount was well utilized, as Sai Baba’s body is resting in this Wada, which is now called the Samadhi Mandir.

The site of this Mandir had formerly a garden, which was watered and looked after by Baba. Three Wadas thus sprang up, where there was none formerly. Of these, Sathe’s Wada was most useful to all, in the early days.

The story of the garden, attended to by Sai Baba with the help of Vaman Tatya, the temporary absence of Sai Baba from Shirdi, and His coming again to Shirdi with the marriage-party of Chand Patil, the company of Devidas, Jankidas and Gangagir, Baba’s wrestling match with Mohdin Tamboli, residence in Masjid, love of Mr. Dengale and other devotees; and other incidents will be described in the next Chapter.
